Youth Page

Llantwit Major and Cowbridge Lions Club have always been involved with various youth projects working with schools, local organisations and individual requests for help.  Through the structure of Lions clubs there are a number of schemes which enable local young people to participate in aiding disadvantaged people both locally and internationally and the work that young people do can be recognised through different Lions Awards schemes most notably ‘The Peace Poster Campaign’, ‘Young Ambassador Award’ and the ‘Young Musician Award’. Please use the links on this page to find out more - these links are provided for information only and the schemes can only be entered into via your local Lions Club. If you wish to find out more then please contact the club using the details on the contact page.

Whilst our club does not have an associated Leo Club for young people to join and importantly run, under the guidance of a local Lions Club, this does not stop any young person or their adult representative getting in touch with our club and explaining what you would like to be involved in and to see if Lions can help.

Education has always been at the forefront of Lions activities and in association with TACADE the Lions have been able to provide a range of education packs to schools on the subjects of Drug Abuse, Alcohol Abuse, Smoking and Bereavement. These packs provide the materials for teachers to provide the necessary information in these important areas of education.  If you would like to read more then please follow the link and get in touch with your local club.

In the past we have provided various sums of money to help towards costs of various youth activities including participation in international sporting evens, musical events and participation in international aid programs.  Events nearer to home are not forgotten and we are currently sponsoring the Llantwit Major Under 14s football team in the Lions 5 Nations Cup.
